Finding the Right Realtor
Finding the right realtor can be one of the most important financial decisions you can make. You want someone that can help you sell your home for as much as possible and to help you buy a home for the best value! So now the real question is “what do I need to look for in a realtor?”
Here are some of VMDC Realty advice:
Talk to past and current clients. Ask your realtor for a list of current and past clients that they will not mind you contacting. Give them a call or shoot them an email asking basic questions like “how long did it take” or “Were you happy with your agent”
Look at their current listings. See what they have in the market and how they market it. This is a good indication of how they will treat you.
Below is a list of questions we recommend that you ask your realtor:
-
How long have you been in real estate sales?
-
Is it your full-time job?
-
How many homes did you and your real estate brokerage sell last year?
-
How many days did it take you to sell the average home?
-
How close to the initial asking prices of the homes you sold were the final sale prices?
-
What types of specific marketing systems and approaches will you use to sell my home?
-
Will you represent me exclusively, or will you represent both the buyer and the seller in the transaction?
-
Can you recommend service providers who can help me obtain a mortgage, make home repairs, and help with other things I need done?
-
How will you keep me informed about the progress of my transaction? How frequently?
-
Could you please give me the names and phone numbers of your three most recent clients?
